In 2022, Playgrown, L3C requested the site development of a brownfield site along the Kalamazoo River for their Home Start Initiative to provide sustainable housing for displaced residents that nurtures independence and a path toward home ownership. Geothermal, and solar panels provide sustainable energy for the residents. Rainwater collection for raised garden beds for growing crops. Diversity in housing options focused on the needs of the potential residents. Ranch and Bungalow Homes with ADA accessibility for disabled future home-owners. Portable cottages provide residents with the resources to participate in the social services offered by the community and maintain their home-ownership once they establish their independence at neighboring communities.

The site is split into two sections. One for the housing development. The other for the Playgrown Park featuring generational playground equipment that encourages the body to stay in motion.
